The Chicago Bears are getting three players back from the Reserve/COVID-19 list while losing a tight end to the same list as well. The team activated safety Eddie Jackson, offensive tackle Larry Borom, and practice squad linebacker Sam Kamara. Meanwhile, Jesper Horsted landed on the COVID list.

On Tuesday, the Bears activated cornerbacks Artie Burns and Duke Shelley from the list while placing Bilal Nichols on it, leaving them at 13 players on the list. Today’s transactions cut down the number of players on the list to 11.

How It Affects The Bears

The team’s secondary unit gets a big lift with the return of Jackson, who has missed games earlier in the year with a hamstring injury, and most recently missed Monday night’s loss to the Vikings because he was on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Getting one of their leaders back in the secondary will certainly be a lift for the Bears, especially with fellow safety Tashaun Gipson Sr. and cornerback Jaylon Johnson still remaining on the list as of Wednesday.

Activating Larry Borom will also be a lift for the team’s offensive line, as the right tackle will have a chance to slot right back into the starting lineup. Veteran Germain Ifedi was activated from injured reserve this past week and played against the Vikings, so it’ll be interesting to see what the team decides to do with Borom.

Jesper Horsted helped provide the only bright spot for the offense during Monday’s loss as he caught an end-of-game touchdown pass from Justin Fields, Chicago’s only touchdown of the game. The tight end room will now consist of Cole Kmet, Jimmy Graham, Jesse James, and J.P. Holtz.

The Bears continue to get players back from Reserve/COVID-19 list, and while they are still adding some, the list getting shorter can only mean positive reinforcements are on the way for the team.
