The Thanksgiving Day showdown between the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears brought more than just football drama, with halftime performer Shaboozey sparking mixed reactions from fans.
The Lions dominated the first two quarters, gaining a 16-0 lead over the Bears. By halftime, the Lions had gained momentum thanks to quarterback Jared Goff’s steady performance, completing 14 of 24 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Bears struggled, recording only seven offensive yards, a fact that didn’t go unnoticed by fans.
As the halftime break began, Shaboozey, whose hits include "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and "Last of My Kind," took the stage at Ford Field.
Fans compared his act favorably to last year's Thanksgiving performer, Jack Harlow, whose performance was widely criticized. However, the Bears’ lackluster first-half performance became a talking point.
Matt Zahn, a sports reporter for CBS Chicago, compared the timing.
“It was close, but go Bears! Bears 1st half time of possession: 7:06. Shaboozey (unofficial) time on field: 6:26."

“Shaboozey is going to be on the field longer than the Bears offense,” quipped Jonathan Jones, a senior NFL reporter for CBS Sports.
Other viewers chimed in with lighthearted remarks about the Bears' performance.
“Not even a first down in the first half and Shaboozey at halftime?” one fan posted.
“Shaboozey made it to the 50 yard line before the Bears offense did,” another joked.
Despite the Bears' struggles, Shaboozey’s performance earned praise and added excitement to the game. The Lions ultimately secured a 23-20 victory, but for many, the halftime show stole the spotlight.
