Kyle Monangai played arguably his best game as a professional on Sunday. He shined against the New York Jets, helping the Chicago Bears secure a 23-12 win. The second-year running back has been nominated for an NFL honor, and the team made a request to its fans.

He recorded 30 rushing attempts for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He consistently ran through the holes from the backfield to gain significant yardage and first downs. Tyson Bagent started under center and also shined, completing 25-of-34 passes for 268. He started in place of Caleb Williams, who continues to recover from a hamstring injury sustained in Week 2.

Monangai shares running back duties with D’Andre Swift, but it has not prevented them from producing strong numbers. The duo set a new franchise record through the first four games of the season.

Bears asks fans to vote for Kyle Monangai

The NFL nominated the Rutgers product for the FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week. New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and Carolina Panthers wideout Tetairoa McMillan joined him. Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III and Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams round out the list.

The Bears posted a graphic on their Instagram account, along with a request to fans.

“VOTE KYLE FOR FEDEX AIR & GROUND PLAYER OF THE WEEK, ” the team wrote.

Monangai entered the league as Chicago’s No. 233 overall pick in the seventh round in 2025. He has outplayed his draft status and is one of the team’s best weapons.

The 24-year-old has a chance to gain more momentum on his side on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. He will have a big target on his back, but he has proven that he can step up big time when his team needs him the most.
