Bears Predicted to Pair Caleb Williams with New 1,000-Yard WR

Following the Chicago Bears' divisional round loss to the Los Angeles Rams, quarterback Caleb Williams lost one of his top wide receivers. D.J. Moore appeared in all 17 games, racking up 50 receptions for 682 yards and six touchdowns on 85 targets.

However, after three years in Chicago, the former Maryland Terrapin and a 2026 fifth-round pick were traded to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick. While the Bears still have receiving threats such as wide receiver Rome Odunze, wide receiver Luther Burden III and tight end Colston Loveland, Moore's departure is significant.

Not only did he lead the team in targets last season, but he was also considered a leader. Moore was named one of Chicago's eight team captains for the 2024 season, which was just before his second year with the team.

With many of the top free agents off the board, The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner predicts the Bears will select Tennessee Volunteers wide receiver Chris Brazzell II with the No. 60 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. It's the same pick Chicago received in the Moore trade.

Brazzell began his collegiate career with the Tulane Green Wave before transferring to the Tennessee Volunteers after the 2023 season. He put together his best performance last year, hitting career-highs in receptions (62), yards (1,017) and touchdowns (nine).

At 6-foot-4 and 198 pounds, he showed impressive speed at the NFL scouting combine, running a 4.37 second 40-yard dash. Draft analyst Lance Zierlein listsGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson as Brazzell's NFL comparison.

While Brazzell wouldn't be able to come in and immediately replicate the same leadership Moore had, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark with the Volunteers shows solid production. As the Bears continue to build the offense around Williams, giving the young quarterback another receiving threat could offset Moore's departure.
