The Chicago Bears are set to face off against the Green Bay Packers tonight in a massive NFC North rivalry showdown at Soldier Field.

Entering tonight’s game, the Bears hold the top spot in the NFC North division race. However, a loss to the Packers would flip the two teams in the standings once again.

Not only would Chicago lose the lead in the NFC North division, Green Bay would also hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with a season sweep. Of course, the Bears came up short to the Packers just two short week ago at Lambeau Field by a final score of 28-21.

Ahead of tonight’s game, the playing status of Green Bay star running back Josh Jacobs has been a major talking point. Jacobs has been dealing with a knee injury this week and his availability has been unknown all week long.

Now, a final verdict has been reached about whether or not Jacobs will play.

According to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Jacobs will indeed play tonight. Even though there were reports about the Packers’ medical team not wanting him to play, the star running back is going to give it a go in what is the game of the year for both teams.

“Packers RB Josh Jacobs will be active tonight against the Bears, per sources,” Pelissero wrote on X. “Jacobs continues to battle a knee injury. He was on crutches Monday. He didn’t practice all week. But with the division potentially on the line, he’s going.”

In the matchup between these two teams two weeks ago, Jacobs carried the football 20 times for 86 yards and a touchdown. He was a huge factor in Green Bay pulling out a hard-fought win.

Hopefully, the Chicago defense will be ready to defend against him tonight. He’s not going to be at 100 percent, which the Bears need to take full advantage of as they look to take a stranglehold on the NFC North race.
