According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears are exploring the possibility of trading offensive tackle Teven Jenkins, who the organization spent the No. 39 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on just a few short offseasons ago.
Jenkins doesn't have a ton of experience since he spent much of the 2021 season on injured reserve, but he did rejoin the team in Week 13 last season and finished the campaign with action in six games, including two starts.
The #Bears have received calls and have held trade talks centered around OT Teven Jenkins, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. The former 2nd round pick has drawn interest based on his potential. A situation to watch.

While it may seem foolish for the Bears to part ways with a player they spent an extremely high draft pick on just two drafts ago, keep in mind that Chicago is under new leadership and new General Manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus, a defensive-minded coach, may not have had the same thoughts on Jenkins that the previous administration did.
Still, it may be tough to justify parting ways with a 6-foot-6, 321-pound tackle with starting experience at the beginning of a rebuild, especially with a young quarterback in Justin Fields to protect.
As Rapoport put it, this is a situation worth watching in Chicago.
