Jenkins has missed all of training camp with a back injury. He suffered a lower back injury last fall at Oklahoma State that sidelined him during a game against Oklahoma.
Shortly after, he announced he was opting out of the remainder of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft. His combine medical report said he suffered a lumbar strain in college.
The Bears traded up for the tackle in this year's draft despite being aware of his back ailment. As insurance, the club recently signed veteran tackle Jason Peters as a replacement.
