Jahdae Walker and the Chicago Bears are off to a strong start to their 2026 regular season. They defeated the Carolina Panthers 59-37 last Sunday, sending a strong message to the rest of the NFL competition. He only recorded one reception, but it was for a touchdown. The second-year wide receiver made a surprising admission about his catch.

Walker went undrafted last year before signing a deal with Chicago. He impressed during the preseason and eventually made the active roster. The Texas A&M Aggies product has since proved that he belongs in the league.

He finished last year with six receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. One of his scores came in the clutch against the Bears’ rivals, the Green Bay Packers.

Walker revealed that the play didn’t go as planned. However, it became a blessing in disguise as he was left alone in the end zone. Caleb Williams threw to the 24-year-old on the right side with no defender near him.

“I was supposed to get my hands on 52 (Panthers linebacker Trevis Gipson) to ease Kyle’s (Monangai) block, but I didn’t,” Walker said. “But it worked out because I sold it just a little, and then you could kind of see a rub on the backside. I was just going to the front pylon and get the touchdown.”

Williams led Chicago by completing 21-of-29 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed 10 times for 65 yards and two scores. D’Andre Swift registered three touchdowns, while Cole Kmet scored another.

Next up for Walker and the Bears is a clash with the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field on Sunday. Two more home games follow versus the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets. They will then have a two-game road trip starting with a showdown with the Packers in Week 5.
