Bears Zacch Pickens and Gervon Dexter Sr. Will 'Turn A Lot Of Heads'
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Chicago Bears rookie defensive lineman Zacch Pickens was recently on the 'Bears Weekly Podcast' hosted by Jeff Joniak, Tom Thayer, and Jim Miller. They asked him about the rookie mini-camp and how he's been bonding with his teammates so far in the process.

Zacch Pickens

Pickens described the rookie mini-camp as a nice introduction. The Chicago Bears coaches did a great job slowing the game down and easing the rookies into the next level.

When asked about teammate Gervon Dexter Sr., who the Bears drafted only eleven picks earlier, Pickens stated:

It would be a brilliant story. Two defensive linemen drafted by the same team very close to one another in the same draft come into the NFL and make an immediate impact.

Imagine having a new dynamic duo on the defensive line. The Bears had a great pair with Akiem Hicks and Khalil Mack. Surely a defensive-minded head coach like Matt Eberflus can take this pair of linemen and make them into something great.

In the best-case scenario, Zacch Pickens and Gervon Dexter Sr. hit a real stride as the foundation of a great Chicago Bears defense. As the offense improves and Justin Fields elevates to another level, this team could be a well-rounded contender.

It might take a few years but balanced and sustainable success is much better than just an early peak.
