Ben Johnson had a busy offseason, reportedly spending a lot of time at the Chicago Bears’ facility. However, he was still able to make a cameo in his debut movie appearance. The second-year head coach came clean on Wednesday with a recent decision he made.
The Bears saw their two-game winning streak snapped on Sunday by the Green Bay Packers. They were overwhelmed at Lambeau Field, losing 31-7. Tyson Bagent started his second consecutive game as Caleb Williams continues to recover from the hamstring injury he sustained in Week 2. The home team’s offense fired on all cylinders, while its defense continuously applied pressure on Bagent.
The good news is Williams could return to action after three missed games. He was listed as a full participant for Wednesday’s walk-thru, which is a huge step towards his Week 6 availability.
A reporter asked Johnson if he attended the premiere of “Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story.” He said he didn’t, but some of his players did, as Williams and Colston Loveland were reportedly in attendance. The 40-year-old shared his experience from the film’s shooting.
“Not a chance,” Johnson said. “I have no idea. It sounded like a couple of our guys made it out there. So it was good. It was good… “The best part for me was just seeing another profession in their element. I have a ton of respect for the lead actors and actresses and how they interacted. And then the director taking control.
“I thought it was pretty cool to see behind the scenes, just because, honestly, there’s some similarities to what we do here in a lot of ways. Just being able to choreograph a bunch of individuals to get on the same page. There’s urgency, and yet you still want to see it all come together at the end. So it was fun to watch.”
Funniest moment of the day.

Johnson and the Bears are now preparing to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. It’s the second of a two-game road trip before they return home for a “Thursday Night Football” matchup with the New England Patriots.
