Bengals roster breakdown is back! During the 99 days leading up to Cincinnati's regular season opener against the Cleveland Browns, the player with the matching jersey number as days remaining will become the day's highlighted player.
83 days remain until the Bengals' first game of the 2025 season, and No. 83 Erick All Jr. deserves his own profile despite very unfortunate circumstances.
All is entering his second year with the Bengals after being drafted 115th overall in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He played one season at Iowa and spent the previous four years at Michigan. He caught 21 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns in just seven games for Iowa in 2023 before a torn ACL cut his year short. He also missed most of his last year at Michigan in 2022 with a back injury that he later revealed to be overblown in the grand scheme of things. He totaled 75 receptions for 864 yards and five touchdowns in 40 career college games (19 starts).
Cincinnati was able to draft All outside the top-100 due to his injury history, and it unfortunately followed him during his rookie season. All played nine games and found a role within the Bengals' offense before re-tearing the same ACL in his right knee. The injury took him out for the remainder of the year and required two surgeries, which has him out for the entire 2025 season.
All is in the second year of his four-year, $4,813,104 rookie contract. He will earn a base salary of $960,000 for the 2025 season, which also represents his total cash earnings for the year. He will still be able to earn this money if and when he gets placed on Injured Reserve.
When adding on his signing bonus proration of $198,276, All's cap hit for the season will be $1,158,276.
All is the Bengals' resident tragic hero. The last three years of his playing days have been marred with serious injury. It's rare nowadays for the same knee injury to cost a player back-to-back seasons, but those are the cards All has been dealt. He can't even play his next hand until 2026. Truly depressing stuff.
Cincinnati is moving on for the year without him in the plans and it's far too early to say what his role will be once he's able to play again ,but he showed much promise in just half of a season last year as both a blocker and receiver. He hauled in 20 receptions for 158 yards while lining up inline, in the slot, and in the backfield. He's supposed to be building off that role this offseason instead of rehabbing an injury all too familiar to him.
It's only a matter of time before the Bengals place All on an injury list prior to the regular season. He'll be back in 2026, and with luck, he'll be able to pick up where he left off.
Projected role: Injured Reserve
