Bengals BREAKING As Shemar Stewart Signs Fully-Guaranteed Rookie Contract

The Cincinnati Bengals have officially ended one of their contract-related standoffs.

First-round pick pass rusher Shemar Stewart has officially signed his rookie contract after a controversial stalemate regarding specific language regarding security of his guaranteed money. He had also refused to sign his practice waiver, meaning he held out of the Bengals' OTAs, rookie minicamp, and the first few days of training camp.

But now, the last first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to be signed officially has his deal.

Finally.

Reports say Stewart's contract is worth $18.97 million fully-guaranteed over four years, with a $10.4 million signing bonus.

Pro Football Talk reports that an agreement was reached by "Stewart accepting the language in exchange for the Bengals adjusting his signing bonus payout, paying him $500,000 more of his signing bonus now."

This news comes just a few days after Bengals owner Mike Brown offered some choice words about how the impasse had gone on for this long.

“Oddly, something like this has never occurred in my memory with us. I don’t think it’s going to occur,” Brown said at Monday’s media luncheon to kick off training camp.

“So we’re sitting here arguing over something that I think is pretty remote and I ask myself sometimes why the hell we’re doing it, but we are, and he’s doing it too. At some point we’ve got to put this stuff behind and just get him signed and get him up here and get him so he can be a contributor. He needs to get underway soon. It doesn’t help him or us to have this run out.

“From our vantage point, it’s a form of foolishness. It just ought to get done.”

The Texas A&M and No. 17 overall pick will now report to Bengals training camp and join his teammates on the practice field for the first time. The defensive end is expected to make a major impact right away, as Cincinnati's defense could greatly use another force at the line of scrimmage.

Stewart projects to make a scary duo with All-Pro Trey Hendrickson ... but that won't come until his contract situation is settled.

Hendrickson is continuing to hold out of training camp because he has demanded an extension that should pay him at least $30 million a season. The veteran pass rusher led the NFL in sacks last season with 17.5.

Cincinnati ends what was an unprecedented rookie contract saga, but now the attention turns to another heated standoff as we approach the first weekend at camp.
