Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown was fined over $5,000 for jumping into the Salvation Army kettle in AT&T Stadium after scoring a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys back in Week 14. That fine did not stand.
Brown told BengalsTalk.com's Jay Morrison that Brown appealed the fine and won.

Brown's fine of $5,481 was titled as Unsportsmanlike Conduct (illegal celebrations and vulgar acts). The "and" should be changed to "or" because there was nothing vulgar about it.
The celebration wasn't even maximized as Brown's touchdown wasn't originally called one on the field. It had to be challenged by head coach Zac Taylor to be reversed into a score.

Brown is far from the first player to jump into that exact kettle. Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott made it famous for years before Brown was even in the NFL.
"I've seen everyone do it since I was a kid," Brown said after the game. "So I was like 'screw it, I'm gonna do it.'"
Brown said he didn't know he could get fined for the celebration. His response to whether or not it was worth being potentially fined was priceless.
No!" Brown said with a nervous laugh. "I don't make enough money for that s--t."

Fines are much more detrimental for young players like Brown. The 24-year old makes about $54,000 per week this season, meaning the fine cost him about 10% of his paycheck.
All is well for Brown now, and just in time for the holidays.
