As the Cincinnati Bengals prepare for the 2025 offseason, their strategy to secure long-term contracts for their star trio—wide receiver Tee Higgins, fellow wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, and defensive end Trey Hendrickson—is the focus of attention.

The Bengals' offseason plan revolves around retaining these key players to build a strong foundation around Joe Burrow.

A move that the quarterback has publicly supported as crucial for the team's success in the upcoming season.

According to a recent report by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Bengals are committed to working on these extensions.

"The team will attempt to secure a trio of stars who need new deals -- wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins and defensive end Trey Hendrickson -- for the long term," Fowler wrote. "Whether Cincinnati can pull it off remains uncertain, but the team's messaging behind the scenes is that it's certainly going to try.

"That starts with Higgins, who is set to hit free agency March 12. One team source says they believe the Bengals will use the franchise tag on Higgins if no long-term deal is reached by the March 4 tag deadline 'in order to have time to get a deal done. Can't let him walk."

Higgins, who played last season under the franchise tag, is seeking a long-term deal.

The Bengals are keen on using the tag again and are working towards a contract extension that would be beneficial for both parties.

Higgins' impressive performance, despite injuries, makes him a valuable asset that Burrow believes is essential for the team's offensive strength.

Chase, fresh off a career year where he led the NFL in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, is also in line for a new contract and expects to be the highest-paid receiver in the league.

Hendrickson, who led the NFL in sacks last season, is another priority for the Bengals.

The Bengals defensive end's contract extension is crucial for strengthening the team's defense and providing Burrow with the necessary support on the opposite side of the ball.

With Burrow's backing and a clear plan in place, the Bengals are positioning themselves for a promising season ahead.
