B.J. Hill is still recovering from an injury as the offseason program progresses. Cincinnati's starting defensive tackle arrived at voluntary workouts in a walking boot, and head coach Zac Taylor noted the team is taking it slow with the veteran.
He didn't give an exact timetable for a return but said it could be sooner rather than later.
"Good you know, offseason program's not a time that we're going to rush through anything," Taylor said about Hill's progression. "Unfortunately, he's not out there right now. It's getting some young guys some really valuable reps. He's still there in a leadership role. He's still there in the meetings. He's showing up every single day. So from a timing standpoint, on when something like this is going to happen. You know, it's unfortunate, but we'll work through it with him."
Cincinnati has three other experienced defensive tackles on the field while Hill is out this spring.
That's not going to force Taylor's hand with his status though.
"I hate to throw stuff like that out there, but I think it's more short-term than long-term for sure," Taylor said about a return for training camp.
