Joe Burrow doesn't weigh as much as he once did.
A photo of the Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback surfaced this offseason showing Burrow appearing to have put on more muscle, but the former LSU standout admits that he actually lost weight.
According to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith, Burrow said he weighed 221 pounds at the Scouting Combine and now is at 215. He says it's been much easier for him to eat healthy while living at home with his parents amid the coronavirus pandemic:
“I actually lost weight post-draft. Coming out of the season you’re kind of a soft body. You lose a lot of muscle and you’ve got to keep the weight on and so you gain a little fat. I lost weight throughout the offseason, so I feel great right now.”
Burrow is the Bengals' quarterback of the future, so they'll be delighted to hear the 23-year-old is taking much better care of his body than he once did.
The Ohio native signed a four-year, $36.1 million deal with the Bengals on Tuesday.
