Bengals QB Joe Burrow's knee injury not expected to require surgery

Joe Burrow suffered a knee injury during the Super Bowl on Sunday, but fortunately it does not sound like it was anything serious.

Burrow appeared to be in serious pain after he was sacked by Von Miller in Cincinnati’s 23-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He immediately clutched at his right knee before getting to his feet and limping off the field. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Burrow has since been diagnosed with a sprain. The star quarterback is not expected to need surgery.

Burrow, who suffered a torn ACL in his other knee last year, refused medical attention during the game. He also downplayed the injury after the game, though he was seen limping when he left the stadium.

The Bengals desperately need to improve their offensive line this offseason. Burrow was sacked seven times in the Super Bowl and a whopping 19 times in the postseason. Cincinnati has to do a better job of protecting their franchise QB.
