Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor originally told reporters that starting running back Joe Mixon suffered "a minor ankle injury" in this past Thursday's 24-21 victory over the winless Jacksonville Jaguars.
ESPN's Adam Schefter offered an update on the situation on Monday.
Schefter states that Mixon is week-to-week with what's been diagnosed as a low-grade ankle sprain. The 25-year-old accumulated 67 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries but wasn't in the lineup for Cincinnati's game-winning offensive drive against Jacksonville. Thus far this season, Mixon leads the 3-1 Bengals with 353 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The fact that they are saying week to week likely means that this isn’t a grade 1, and makes me think it’s a grade 2.

Hence the week to week status.
Happy it’s not a high-ankle sprain, but W5 may not be realistic.
Will discuss in a video soon.
Samaje Perine is second on the team with 28 yards on nine rushes.
Mixon's status for this coming Sunday's showdown with the Green Bay Packers (3-1) isn't clear, but it seems Perine would be the next man up on the depth chart. The Bengals are at the 0-4 Detroit Lions on Oct. 17.
