The Bengals and owner Mike Brown released a statement regarding the passing of Colts owner Jim Irsay.

The influential NFL voice died this week at the age of 65.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Irsay," Brown wrote. "Jim contributed in great ways to the Colts and the NFL. He will be remembered for his love of family, football, and his community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Irsay family and the Colts organization."

Irsay owned the team starting in 1997 as the son of businessman Robert Irsay. Robert acquired the Baltimore franchise in 1972 for $12 million and eventually moved them to Indianapolis in 1984.

Indianapolis leads the all-time series with the Bengals 20-13.
