Bengals star Joe Burrow practice video a good sign for injury return

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are currently in the middle of what figures to be a highly important offseason as for the future direction of the franchise. The Bengals’ 2023 season was derailed when Burrow went down for the year with a wrist injury, but the team still has a relatively young roster and several deep playoff runs under their belt, meaning that expectations will be as high as ever for the team to bounce back in the upcoming 2024 campaign.

Of course, the Bengals’ chances of truly competing for a Super Bowl rise and fall with the health of Burrow, whose injury history has been a bit up and down throughout the course of his NFL career so far since being taken with the number one overall pick out of LSU in 2020.

However, a recently unearthed piece of footage from a recent Bengals practice showed the quarterback looking as healthy as ever while throwing the ball to some of his various Cincinnati receivers.

Needless to say, many fans in the comment section of the video were hyped up about what they saw from their quarterback.

“I think we’re in for an MVP season,” wrote one user, predicting that Burrow will come through and win his first ever league MVP trophy in 2024 after coming close multiple times before.

Another fan hilariously opined that the team should speed up the video so that they can see rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton, drafted this year out of Alabama after spending his college career at the University of Georgia, in his full range of motion.

“Wish I could see this at regular speed to actually see how fast Burton is running because it looks like he jogging,” wrote the user.

Another fan was convinced that if the Bengals’ offensive line, which has been a clear Achilles heel for the team over the years, can find a way to hold up, that championship glory could be on the team’s horizon.

“If Joey B stays healthy, along with the OLine. They winning the Super Bowl. I’ll double down on it,” wrote the fan.

A bright future

As previously mentioned, the Bengals have come close to NFL immortality at multiple points during Burrow’s relatively short tenure so far.

First, in the 2021-22 season, the Bengals advanced all the way to the Super Bowl, losing in heartbreaking fashion to the Los Angeles Rams.

Then the following season, they made it back to the AFC Championship Game and lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of the previous year’s tilt.

The good news is that all signs point to Burrow feeling as healthy as he has in a while as the season approaches.

“We’ll see where it’s at when the time comes. You never know, but right now we’re in a good spot,” Burrow said recently, per Ben Baby of ESPN.

The Bengals’ season is set to get underway in September.
