It'll be a battle of the blands this weekend as the Cincinnati Bengals try to keep their heads above water against a New York Jets team just trying to generate any semblance of an offense. But as the Bengals host the Jets, they'll be doing so with one player who apparently doesn't want to be there anymore.
According to ESPN's Ben Baby, Bengals starting linebacker Logan Wilson has requested a trade. Per the report, Wilson is upset over his reduced role with the team in spite of his continued status as a starter.
"Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson has requested a trade, a source told ESPN on Thursday," Baby wrote. "The sixth-year player has started in all seven of his appearances this season. However, the team captain has seen his role reduced over the course of the season. Rookies Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr. have received the bulk of the team's defensive snaps."

The Cincinnati Bengals are just trying to avoid falling out of playoff contention while they wait for starting QB Joe Burrow to return from an injury. To their credit, they're doing an alright job of it as veteran QB Joe Flacco led their to a win over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
But Flacco can be very hot and cold from week to week - as can the rest of the team. They can't afford to get complacent.
At 3-4 on the season and with tough games against Chicago, New England, Baltimore and a rematch with the Steelers in November, Sunday's game against the Jets is must-win for them.
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson has developed into one of the NFL’s most consistent and underrated defensive playmakers since entering the league in 2020. Drafted in the third round out of Wyoming, Wilson quickly earned a starting role thanks to his sharp instincts, leadership, and coverage ability — traits that made him a standout in college. Over his first few seasons, he became the centerpiece of Cincinnati’s linebacker corps, leading the team in tackles multiple times and playing a vital role in their 2021 playoff run that culminated in a Super Bowl appearance. His ability to read offenses and drop back in coverage has made him one of the most complete linebackers in the AFC.
By the mid-2020s, Wilson had earned a reputation as both a defensive anchor and a locker room leader for the Bengals. Known for clutch performances in big moments — including key interceptions and forced turnovers — he’s helped stabilize a defense that often complements the team’s explosive offense led by Joe Burrow. With a new contract extension securing his future in Cincinnati, Wilson continues to serve as a reliable, hard-hitting presence in the middle of the field, embodying the toughness and discipline that define the Bengals’ defensive identity.
