Tee Higgins' asking price just went up.
The Steelers traded a second round pick to the Seahawks for DK Metcalf and are signing him to a four-year extension worth $132 million per season.
That $33 million per year average makes him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL. It could also raise Higgins' asking price.
Metcalf had 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns for Seattle last season. Higgins had 73 catches for 911 receiving yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns for the Bengals last season.
Higgins is one year younger than Metcalf, but the new Steelers star receiver has played in more games per season.
Regardless, the Bengals haven't signed Higgins or Ja'Marr Chase to new contracts and the market continues to go up.
DK Metcalf had one year and $18 million left on his old deal. Now he gets a 4-year, $132 million extension -- $33 million per year -- that puts him under contract through 2029 and makes him one of the NFL's highest-paid receivers. https://t.co/ATissmYN9K
