Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas tore a ligament in his thumb and will go on injured reserve, Ben Baby of ESPN reports. He will miss at least four games.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Iosivas suffered the injury sometime during their 20-6 win over the Texans on Sunday (via Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic). Taylor added that he expects Iosivas to return sometime this season. Iosivas will undergo surgery Wednesday, but he should be back within four to six weeks, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

This will be the first long-term absence for the durable Iosivas, a fourth-year man who missed just one game from 2023-25. The former sixth-round pick from Princeton put together back-to-back 17-game seasons over the previous two years. While complementing the elite receiver tandem of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, Iosivas averaged around 35 catches, 457 yards and four touchdowns per year during that stretch.

The Bengals are off to a 2-0 start this year, but they got there with minimal production from Iosivas. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder caught just three passes for 19 yards before suffering the injury. Iosivas ranks third among Bengals wideouts in offensive snap share, though, and the team will have to find a way to fill his role over the next few weeks.

Other than Chase and Higgins, the Bengals have fourth-round rookie Colbie Young, Dohnte Meyers and Ke’Shawn Williams as healthy options on their 53-man roster. They could also turn to more multiple-tight end sets to help cover for Iosivas’ absence, Dehner notes. Drew Sample, Erick All and Mike Gesicki have each played a good chunk of snaps in the early going, and the team also has a fourth TE in Tanner Hudson.
