The Dallas Cowboys were happy to pick twice in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft but will now have to patiently await their turn in Day 3 as they don't have a fourth rounder.
Even still, there should be chances to come away with projects at positions of need, including running back.
Let's dive into some of the best players that are available at positions the Cowboys could be looking into.
The Cowboys will be crossing their fingers for a guy they like to make it all the way down to 174th overall in the fifth round but there are many solid running back options on the board still.
It should be noted Bucky Irving was a Top 30 visit for them and could make sense in the fifth.
The Cowboys' need for a wide receiver shouldn't be underestimated. Brandin Cooks is headed for free agency in 2025 and Jalen Tolbert remains a question mark as WR3, let alone WR.
Taking a flyer on someone like Brenden Rice, Jerry Rice's son, could be smart.
The Cowboys got their linebacker in Marist Liufau but make no mistake about it: Dallas' linebackers struggled in 2023 partly because of poor DT play. Osa Odighizuwa is a high-end three-tech starter but the team needs depth at both that position and nose tackle behind Mazi Smith.
Jordan Jefferson from LSU is a player I've consistently mocked to the Cowboys.
Just like you can't have enough wide receivers in an 11 personnel league, you can't have enough cornerbacks. The Cowboys have some decent depth in the defensive backfield but adding pure cornerbacks is a must in Day 3.
