People will do extraordinary things to win a large sum of money. That is the case when betting on the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys Week 1 matchup in the 2025 season.

FOX Sports shared the betting odds and trends for the Week 1 matchup, with the Eagles listed as -7 favorites to win against the Cowboys. This hasn't stopped people from putting their money on Dallas to win.

"At BetMGM, Dallas +7 is the most-bet team in tickets for Week 1. Additionally, the Cowboys +7 are the second-most-bet team in handle. And the most-bet Week 1 underdog on the moneyline? You guessed it — it's Cowboys +260 (tickets). Also at the BetMGM, in tickets, this matchup is the most-bet game of the entire opening-week slate and the point total is the second-most-bet in Overs."

Eagles' recent history with the Cowboys shows Philly should be favored and the safe bet

Last year's matchup between the Eagles and Cowboys wasn't even close. Philadelphia won the first matchup 34-6 back in November at Jerry World. Their second game was even worse as the Eagles took down the Cowboys 41-7 in front of the home crowd with Kenny Pickett and Tanner McKee at quarterback.

For those fans not keeping track, the Eagles outscored the Cowboys 75-13. Dallas wasn't even close to being competitive, regardless of whether Dak Prescott was healthy or not.

Before last year, the series was pretty even, with each side winning. The Cowboys had won the series back in the 2021 season, but that was the only time during the last five years before Philly took it last year.

People see the odds and think that Dallas has considerable money potential, so why not put everything on them? Well, the Eagles have won three straight at home against Dallas, and let's not forget that Philly went 14-3 last year and won the Super Bowl. The Cowboys went 7-10.

Ultimately, fans will have to make the final decision on who to make a bet on, but the Eagles on paper look like the easy choice to place a bet on even if it doesn't rake in as much money.
