Big 12 Women’s Basketball Seeding for the 2026 Tournament

The TCU Horned Frogs are the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 Conference women’s basketball tournament for the second straight year and seeks to defend its tournament title from a season ago.

The Big 12 released the complete field, with seeds, game times and television designations after the completion of Sunday’s games.

TCU will attempt to win the league’s regular-season and tournament title for the second straight year under third-year coach Mark Campbell. The Horned Frogs get a double bye, which means they won’t play their quarterfinal game until Friday. The other seeds with double byes include No. 2 West Virginia, No. 3 Baylor and No. 4 Colorado.

The next four seeds — No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 6 Texas Tech, No. 7 Iowa State and No. 8 Arizona State — received single byes and will not play until Thursday. The remaining eight teams begin the tournament on Wednesday at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

The winner of the tournament receives the Big 12’s automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

The Big 12 women will be the first to play on the LED Court that will be used for both the men’s and women’s tournaments, created by ASB Glassfloor based in Orlando, Fla., The Big 12 Tournaments mark the first time ASB GlassFloor’s LED court technology will be utilized for official competition in the United States.
