Big Drew Brees Career News Announced During NFL Season

Former NFL star quarterback Drew Brees joined NBC Sports in 2021 and contributed to Football Night in America and worked select Notre Dame and NFL games in the booth before stepping away from NBC before the 2022 season.

Three years later, Brees made it clear he wants back into the booth and suggested he'd be one of the best analysts in the game if given the chance.

“I chuckle because even as I look at the landscape right now, I mean, I have so much respect for a lot of guys in the booth right now, but I’d step in the booth right now and be a top-three guy,” Brees told Dan Patrick last month. “Like, without question. And then you give me a few years, and I could be the best.”

It seems those chances are finding Brees. Just last week he was given a guest spot for Fox's NFL coverage on Sunday.

"Following a massive weekend in Kansas City, Super Bowl XLIV MVP @DrewBrees joins Fox NFL Kickoff and Fox NFL Sunday in-studio for a special Week 3 guest appearance. Coverage begins at 11:00 AM ET on FOX," Fox Sports PR announced as Brees replaced Julian Edelman, who was inducted into New England Patriot’s Hall of Fame on Sunday.

But that's just the beginning for Brees, it seems.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23 news broke that the former New Orleans Saints star quarterback will be a weekly regular on ESPN's First Take. Brees is set to join the show on Tuesdays for the remainder of the NFL season, joining the likes of Cam Newton, Ryan Clark, Dan Orlovsky, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, Marcus Spears, and Jeff Saturday as guest stars.

In his first appearance on the show, Brees brought forth a hot take calling the Philadelphia Eagles offense "boring."
