Bill Belichick pens heartfelt letter to New England Patriots fans in Boston Globe full-page ad Sunday
? Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Bill Belichick gave New England Patriots fans more than two decades’ worth of memories, including six Super Bowl wins. At the same time, those fans also gave him more than a few great memories that he appreciates.

To express his gratitude to the fans in New England, Belichick took out a full-page ad in the Boston Globe on Sunday. There, he thanked New England Patriots fans.

You can see the entire ad that Bill Belichick took out in the Boston Globe, here:

“Nowhere in America are pro sports fans as passionate as in New England and for 24 years, I was blessed to feel your passion and power. The Patriots are the only the only NFL team representing SIX State but in reality, Patriots Nation knows no borders,” Belichick wrote in part.

“You were undaunted by weather, attended scorching hot training camp practices and braved Foxborough’s coldest, wettest, snowiest, and windiest days.”

During his time with the Patriots, Bill Belichick compiled a 266-121 regular season record and a 30-12 playoff record. The team won six Super Bowls in nine appearances and was a consistent force in the AFC, going to 13 AFC Championship Games. New England also won the AFC East 18 times in his 24 seasons. However, after a 4-13 campaign in 2023, he and the Patriots parted ways.

Belichick, seemingly still interested in coaching, has been unable to find a home despite some interest with the Atlanta Falcons. Now, it appears that the 71-year-old future Hall of Fame head coach will be without a job for the 2024 season.

“I loved coaching here and, together, we experienced some amazing moments. Thank you all. With respect and admiration, Bill Belichick,” the ad concluded.

Bill Belichick could land on TV if not offered head coaching job

According to a recent report by Ian Rapoport, if Bill Belichick is without a team to coach in 2024, he could continue to be around the game by going into TV.

“Bill Belichick may sit out the year. This is actually amazing. I know we’ve gone over this before but it’s still amazing to think about the greatest coach of all-time as of right now does not have a landing spot…So, he does have some options,” Rapoport said.

“He can sit out the year and potentially become maybe the most coveted coach next year… Could be a consultant for a team… I wouldn’t be surprised if he joined us right here — well not right here — but right here in the TV world. [He’s] already won an Emmy, wouldn’t put it past him to try for another.”
