There certainly is a feeling of "if not now, then when" for the Buffalo Bills and their hunt for that elusive Super Bowl trophy.
Armed with a roster many think is more than capable of winning the Super Bowl, coupled with a coaching staff that has all the tools needed to get the most out of this team, it feels like gut-check time in Buffalo.
Granted, every year for the past five has felt like this for the Bills, but 2025 has a different vibe to it. The franchise isn't expected to just be a playoff participant, but a Super Bowl winner.
For CBS Sports, in giving each team one reason for optimism heading into the season, Buffalo's centers around one player.
"If we're talking about why teams should be optimistic about the 2025 season, a lot of the conversation will center around quarterbacks," CBS Sports writes. "The reason Buffalo should be looking forward to the 2025 campaign is that they have arguably the best quarterback in the league, meaning their floor should be an appearance in the divisional round."
It is no secret that the Bills will go as far as Josh Allen takes them.
A solid offense under Joe Brady that houses, we think, an underrated offensive line, weapons in Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid, Joshua Palmer, and running back James Cook, there is more than enough talent.
Then we add in what Allen does as well.
The defense has been beefed up via free agency and the draft, with the defensive line and secondary seeing more talent be added, so Buffalo's weakness has now been rectified (it hopes).
Now, it all comes down to whether this team can navigate the regular season to be able to hit the playoffs in form, because once there, the "real" season starts for the Bills.
And when you have No. 17, he gives you all the hope in the world that any year will be "the" year.
