Following his superhuman performance in Sunday's 48-42 win over the Detroit Lions, Josh Allen had some X-rays done, which set off alarm bells.
Not to worry though. The Buffalo Bills quarterback said he was just being cautious after taking a "funky fall" on his right shoulder and was looking for "peace of mind more than anything." Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed on Monday that Allen was fine.
"Josh is all good. He had some of those tests after the game. He's all good," said McDermott.
Wednesday's practice report provided further evidence that Allen is 100%. The MVP candidate was not even listed on the report, meaning there's nothing he's dealing with that the Bills feel worthy of declaring to the league.
Of course, that could change over the next couple of days, and if it does, Buffalo would add Allen to the injury report along with his status. For now, all is well.
In his latest awe-inspiring performance, Allen threw for 362 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushing scores in Buffalo's 48-42 win over Detroit.
The 28-year-old is now the betting favorite to win his first NFL Most Valuable Player Award.
"It's the best I've seen him play and not surprised," McDermott said following Sunday's game. "When he sets a goal for himself, for a team, I mean, he's hard to stop. So, people have tried, they'll keep trying, that's what we do in this league, and I mean, just incredible, incredible performance week after week, and what more can you say?
"... Every week we're watching an incredible player play incredibly consistent week after week, and I'll let you guys fill in the rest of the sentence."
Allen and the Bills will be back in action this Sunday when they take on the New England Patriots.
