Buechele’s exit paves the way for Kyle Allen to serve as the Bills’ No. 2 quarterback behind Josh Allen. That was the expected outcome after the Bills gave Kyle Allen a one-year, $4.1MM deal with $1.8MM in guaranteed money in free agency. The 30-year-old journeyman is now in his second stint in Buffalo, where he previously played in 2023.

The Bills lost fullback Reggie Gilliam to the Patriots in free agency, and head coach Joe Brady suggested earlier this summer they might not carry a replacement this season. That may end up being the case. VanSumeren and undrafted rookie Jackson Acker were in the organization at the time, but neither player is on the roster anymore.

After going undrafted out of Virginia Tech in 2025, Gosnell spent the season on the Bills’ practice squad. Despite cutting Gosnell on Sunday, the Bills hope to get him back on their p-squad this year, Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News reports. He will have to clear waivers first.
