Bills Announce Wide Receiver Move After Season-Ending News

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24 in the AFC wild card round, but the win came with a costly setback. Wide receiver Gabe Davis suffered a torn ACL during the game and was later placed on injured reserve, officially ending his 2025 season. Davis had appeared in seven total games for Buffalo this year, finishing with 14 receptions for 143 yards and one touchdown before the injury brought his campaign to an abrupt close.

Davis’ loss has left the Bills thin at wide receiver as they prepare to visit the No. 1 seed Denver Broncos, who are coming off a bye week. With limited depth at the position and the stakes heightened in the AFC divisional round, Buffalo was forced to make roster adjustments ahead of the matchup.

On Friday, the Bills announced several moves to reinforce the roster. The team activated wide receiver Curtis Samuel and defensive tackle Ed Oliver from injured reserve, while elevating wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. and running back Frank Gore Jr. from the practice squad.

Samuel, who missed time this season with an elbow injury, appeared in six games before landing on injured reserve. He recorded seven receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown, providing a versatile option when healthy.

Hardman has had limited opportunities with Buffalo this season, seeing action in two games while contributing primarily on special teams, including a 61-yard kickoff return. Gore, meanwhile, has yet to carve out a significant offensive role but could add depth to the backfield and special teams unit.

With these reinforcements in place, quarterback Josh Allen will be counting on the group to step up as the Bills look to secure another road playoff victory and move one step closer to the Super Bowl.

Buffalo will face Denver on Saturday, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m. ET, and live coverage on CBS.
