Bills BREAKING As Joey Bosa Injury Means Bad News and Long Timetable

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott spoke to reporters Tuesday and confirmed the bad news that newly-signed edge rusher Joey Bosa has pulled his calf, according to insider Ian Rapoport.

Bosa, who is about to turn 30 years old, is likely to be sidelined until Buffalo's training camp.

The former No. 3 overall pick in 2016 is entering his 10th NFL season, but first with a new team. Bosa spent the previous nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before signing with Buffalo this offseason in free agency.

The Bills agreed to terms with Bosa on a one-year, $12.6 million contract that is a relative bargain for the Pro Bowl resume Bosa commands.

Injuries, however, have played a large part in his availability throughout his career and likely contribute to his contract figure at this stage in his career.

Bosa's 14 games played last season were his most since 2021. He dealt with groin and foot injuries that have forced him to miss 20 games in the two years leading up to 2024.

Last season Bosa racked up 22 tackles, five sacks and two forced fumbles to earn his fifth Pro Bowl selection.

Bosa was released by the Chargers to free up cap space. Now, he brings with him his concerning injury history in his first moments with the Bills.

Buffalo will turn the attention to Greg Rousseau, AJ Epenesa, Michael Hoect and rookie Landon Jackson in the defensive end unit this offseason.

Bosa's injury, and the rest of Bills training camp, will be intently watched as the team is featured in this offseason's Hard Knocks.
