Bills Coach Turns Heads With Opinion on Curtis Samuel

Buffalo Bills receiver Curtis Samuel has been fighting against the tide with injuries and a lack of form since making the move from the Washington Commanders, but now it appears he's finally settling into life in the AFC East.

With Samuel in Joe Brady's offense, Josh Allen has several weapons to deliver the football to, and it isn't about one player. Instead, the "everybody eats" mantra has fueled the Bills to a 9-2 record.

But Samuel, like his other offensive teammates before him, finally had his moment in the sun in the 31-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, having a season-high five receptions for 58 yards and his first touchdown as a Bill.

And Brady was full of praise for his receiver.

“Up to this point, not exactly what Curtis was expecting, but he's been battling a lot of injuries,” Brady said. “It was nice to see him the last two weeks healthy out there, moving around and getting a taste of who he is, and I feel like you can see the confidence, the speed, the race [run after catch] ability with him, made a lot of plays out there. Something that to continue to build on and get our offense where we're going to want to eventually be, we're going to need him.”

Having been used sparingly since arriving in Buffalo, Samuel has registered two or fewer catches six times this season. But against the Chiefs, it was Curtis' time to feast and feast he did.

Based on what we've seen from the Bills' offense this season, expecting Samuel to do that on a weekly basis isn't feasible. However, his performance does instill confidence in Allen to trust his receiver when the going gets tough.

Yes, it was the first time Samuel somewhat took over a game this season, and now that will surely be in the back of Allen and Brady's mind moving forward.

Finally, after 10 games for Samuel, he has lift-off as a Bill.
