Bills' Dawson Knox returns to practice after death of brother

The entire football community was shocked to learn last week that Florida International University linebacker/tight end and former Ole Miss player Luke Knox, the younger brother of Buffalo Bills star tight end Dawson Knox, had died at the age of 22.

According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Dawson Knox returned to the practice field Tuesday for the first time since he took a leave of absence five days ago.

Ahead of this past weekend, Dawson Knox addressed the passing of his brother via a post he shared on Twitter.

As noted by the Associated Press (h/t WGRZ), the Bills held a moment of silence to honor Luke Knox ahead of this past Saturday's preseason game against the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium that Buffalo won 42-15. Per a different WGRZ piece, Bills fans have donated over $100,000 to the P.U.N.T. Pediatric Cancer Collaborative, a charity supported by Dawson Knox, over the past week.

Luke Knox was found unresponsive in his dorm room by a teammate last Wednesday. Police have said they do not suspect foul play.

According to ESPN stats, Dawson Knox finished the 2021 regular season second on the Bills with nine touchdown receptions. He also contributed 49 catches for 587 yards.
