The Buffalo Bills took a major hit on Thursday ahead of their matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott provided an update on the status of multiple players, and it isn't good.
He explained that defensive tackle Jordan Phillips is heading to injured reserve. Meanwhile, safety Micah Hyde and defensive end AJ Epenese are not expected to play.
Hyde is dealing with a neck injury while Epenesa has a rib injury.
On the plus side, McDermott did say that James Cook is expected to play despite missing Wednesday's practice with an illness. The running back was crucial in last week's win.
Phillips underwent wrist surgery on Monday and was originally considered week-to-week. However, now he is out for the remainder of the regular season. He was injured in the Bills' win over the Dallas Cowboys, getting injured while sacking quarterback Dak Prescott.
As for Hyde and Epenesa, the two missed the Bills last game and will be out for another week.
The Chargers will host the Bills for a primetime matchup on Saturday night, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET.
