Bills Employee Surprised With New Car After Viral Josh Allen Shoutout

At the 14th annual NFL Honors last week in New Orleans, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen took home this year's MVP award.

In doing so, Allen delivered a speech that managed to cover all the bases when it came to thanking the many important and influential figures around him.

One individual that was specifically mentioned in Allen's touching speech was Roderick Morrow, more commonly known to those within the Bills organization as "Slick Rick," who has worked in the team's mail room for 15 years.

During his time with the Bills, Morrow had been taking the bus to and from work, but not anymore:

"'Slick Rick' in the mailroom got his car, courtesy of West Herr New York. The longtime Bills employee has been taking the bus from Buffalo to Orchard Park for many years to go to work," the post on X read.

Now there are happy Fridays and then there's a whole different tier of "here are your keys to a new car" type of happy Friday.

Yes, "Slick Rick" can quite literally put the bus behind him in favor of a brand-new Chevy Traverse.

A visibly emotional Morrow appeared to be truly touched by the generous gesture, saying, "I can't believe it, I can't believe this."

"I hate to say, you know I'm the type of person to say like 'why me' you know," an overwhelmed Morrow continued. "But that's how I am. It's unbelievable, this is unbelievable ... I thank everybody. I'm just an average guy. I guess I was blessed to get the job with the Bills and I'll just try not to miss no days of work, and just be there and do what I'm supposed to do."

The fact that Morrow specifically mentioned that he will be doing his best to not miss any days of work and just continue to do his job kind of sums things up rather nicely, as it feels like a gift well-earned for someone who appears to be far beyond the definition of humble.

It's pretty difficult not to appreciate unique moments like the one Allen had provided for "Slick Rick" by mentioning him during his speech and then, within a week, see it evolve into something that will make Morrow's day-to-day life exceedingly more convenient and comfortable.
