Bills Hopes Pinned On One Key Weapon Not Named 'Josh Allen'

The Buffalo Bills will enter the 2025 season with perhaps their best chance at Super Bowl glory in recent memory, and it won't all fall on Josh Allen's shoulders.

With several key defensive additions to bolster the pass rush, along with the signing of receiver Josh Palmer, the Bills have upgraded at multiple positions without losing any key players aside from Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper.

However, Buffalo's ability to finally break through its playoff ceiling might not be down to the new additions to the team, but rather the ones already on it.

For NFL.com's Jeffri Chadiha, the bounce-back ability of young tight end Dalton Kincaid is crucial to the Bills' proposed success in 2025.

"There were high expectations for Kincaid after he produced 73 receptions as a rookie in 2023," Chadiha writes. "But last year wasn’t nearly as much fun for him. There were plenty of questions about Kincaid’s slippage, but it seems that health played a role in that, as the tight end dealt with a collarbone injury and injuries to both knees.

"The Bills have been trying to get over the hump -- by that, we mean the Kansas City Chiefs -- in the AFC for the last five years. Kincaid becoming a dominant weapon is something this team definitely needs to see happen."

After an impressive rookie season (673 yards, two touchdowns, 73 receptions in 16 regular-season games), injuries and poor form played a big role in 448 yards, two touchdowns, and 44 receptions from 13 games last season.

To think how potent Buffalo's offense was last year without Kincaid firing, if the tight end can put his poor 2024 behind him and continue his ascension in 2025, then he might just be the missing piece to the Bills' playoff hopes.

Granted, it won't be all down to Kincaid's form resurgence, but having him improve on his 2024 output is another thread Allen and coordinator Joe Brady can pull at in 2025.

Is Kincaid the Bills' missing Super Bowl link?

We don't think so, but having him in form at the pointy end of the season wouldn't hurt.
