Bills' Josh Allen has great mentality about facing Chiefs

Josh Allen has put up some impressive numbers against the Kansas City Chiefs over the years, but the Buffalo Bills quarterback has been around long enough to know how little that matters.

The Bills are aiming to win their fourth consecutive regular-season game against the Chiefs when they host their conference rival on Sunday. Allen was asked on Wednesday about the success he has had against Kansas City, and he was quick to point out that he has never beaten the Chiefs in the postseason.

Bills fans should be pleased with that mentality, even if it has yet to translate into the result they are hoping for.

Allen is 3-4 overall in his career against the Chiefs but 0-3 in the playoffs. He’s had statistical success when facing Kansas City in both the regular season and postseason. In those seven games, Allen has thrown for 1,801 yards, 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions. His collective passer rating against Andy Reid’s team is 98.3.

When Bills fans think about facing the Chiefs, they almost certainly recall the heartbreaking playoff moments more than anything special Allen has done. Allen knows there is nothing he can do on Sunday to change that. It is a good sign that he has his eyes on a bigger prize, even if he knows how important the regular-season showdown can be for the playoff picture.
