The 2024 season for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was seen as his crowning moment after winning NFL MVP.
After a regular season that saw Allen reel in his turnovers, posting just six interceptions, while having his best-ever QBR (77.3) and his second-best passer rating (101.4), the dual-threat quarterback was also a colossal runner.
For the second consecutive season, he rushed for over 10 touchdowns, and it was the fourth straight season he rushed for over 500 yards, making his ability to run a key weapon for the Bills' offense.
But despite all of Allen's superb work in 2024, CBS Sports ranked Allen fifth in their latest quarterback power rankings for 2025.
"The reigning MVP is coming off his most efficient season while operating with a new-look receiving group," CBS Sports writes. "Like Lamar Jackson, another AFC superhero, he's just yet to escape the Chiefs' shadow."
There is a case to be made that the last thing Allen has to tick off his NFL to-do list is win a Super Bowl. But to do that, he must likely slay Patrick Mahomes in the postseason.
He has no trouble doing that in the regular season, but in the playoffs, Mahomes always has the last laugh.
With the majority of his weapons returning, Allen will once again loom large in the AFC contenders chat, and with Lamar Jackson (4) ahead of him, a player who Josh beat in the playoffs, there might be a little chip on Josh's shoulder entering the 2025 season.
And as the reigning MVP winner, that might spell trouble for the rest of the league.
