The Buffalo Bills are once again looking to close the gap between contention and a championship after another season that fell short of expectations. Despite fielding a roster led by quarterback Josh Allen, Buffalo was unable to reach the Super Bowl in 2025, extending a frustrating run in which the franchise has remained competitive in the regular season but unable to capture the ultimate prize.
General manager Brandon Beane has since responded with an aggressive approach to the offseason. One of the most notable moves came when Buffalo acquired wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears in a trade that sent a second-round pick to Chicago along with a pick swap, giving Allen the proven No. 1 wideout the team lacked last season.
The Bills have also been working to stay under the salary cap. On Wednesday, the front office restructured Allen’s contract ahead of his ninth NFL season, converting $15.2 million of his 2026 salary into a signing bonus.
The maneuver cleared approximately $12 million in cap space, helping the team create room to pursue additional roster upgrades during free agency.
That adjustment has now quickly translated into another major trade decision. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Bills have agreed to sign two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Bradley Chubb to a three-year, $43.5 million contract that includes $29 million guaranteed and could reach $52.5 million in total value with incentives. The addition gives the franchise a proven pass rusher to further improve an already strong unit that ranked seventh in total defense last season.

Chubb arrives in Buffalo with a strong résumé. The former No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft has built a reputation as one of the league’s most disruptive edge defenders during his career with the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins. Across his seven-year career, Chubb has recorded 48 sacks along with 300 combined tackles, four fumble recoveries and one interception. The 29-year old also earned Pro Bowl selections in 2020 and 2022.
He remained productive during the 2025 season with the Dolphins, appearing in all 17 games while recording 47 total tackles, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
