The Buffalo Bills will enter the 2025 season with Super Bowl aspirations, and yes, that is nothing new, except for the fact that a lot of people are expecting Buffalo to win it this year.
Having been there and thereabouts over the past couple of seasons, the Bills have always had the talent to go on a deep playoff run, but it has never eventuated into a Super Bowl appearance under Josh Allen's guidance.
That has to change in 2025.
But as Bleacher Report's Moe Moton writes, in order to do that, Buffalo will likely have to do something it hasn't done before in the playoffs.
“Since 2020, the Buffalo Bills have dominated the AFC East, winning five consecutive division titles with at least 11 wins in each season," Moton writes. "You can count on the Bills to take home another division title, but their biggest test is a playoff matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
“The Bills have a Super Bowl-ready roster, but they may have to conquer their conference nemesis in Kansas City at some point in the playoffs to compete in Super Bowl LX. Buffalo isn't overrated or underrated. It's a top-three team behind the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chiefs.”
Do the Bills have the weaponry on both sides of the ball to slay the Chiefs? Offensively, the answer is yes, but defensively, we aren't sure, even with the reinforcements this offseason.
Many are counting out the Chiefs, but they will be playoff-bound, and the football gods will make sure we get another Bills/Chiefs matchup with everything on the line.
The Bills are expected to at least make the Super Bowl for the first time in Allen's tenure, but that will only happen if they can slay the Chiefs (likely to see them at some stage in the postseason). And that means doing something the franchise, so far, hasn't been able to do.
Is 2025 the year when the Bills finally beat the Chiefs?
