Bills Newcomer Says 'Everybody Eats' Mantra Fueling Training Camp

Last season, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and his "everybody eats" mantra fueled the offense's high-octane approach, leading them to be one of the best units in football.

With Josh Allen able to get the ball to any one of his receivers, and not lock in on one target, such as a No. 1 receiver, defenses had a tough time recognizing where No. 17 was going with the football.

Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Dalton Kincaid, James Cook, and Amari Cooper carried the offense, but now Joshua Palmer joins the party with Hollins and Cooper no longer there, the overriding thought on Brady's offense from the former Los Angeles Charger is still the same.

"Everybody eats,” Palmer said. “It's a big thing that Joe emphasizes, and you see it a lot, especially in practice. Some guys go off in practice, then another guy will go off in a different practice, another guy will go off in a different practice. You really don't know how your route is going to affect the play.

"You don't really know if you're even going to get the ball. You might be the last read and still might get the ball. So, if anything with this offense, you just have to be ready at all times, especially with Josh, because he'll throw it to anybody and he can get it there.”

With the offense still seen as one of the best in football, despite some thinking the lack of a No. 1 receiver will be the downfall of Buffalo (it wasn't last year), and Palmer comes to the AFC East champs looking to continue the good production we've seen throughout his career.

Granted, learning a new offense isn't easy, and as Palmer stated, receivers never know when they are getting the ball, so every route has to be run with the vigor and enthusiasm as if they are the first read.

And when that happens, it stresses the defense because anyone can get the ball at any time.

Everybody eats in Brady's offense, and Palmer hopes he'll get his fill in 2025.
