Bills place LB Matt Milano, DT DaQuan Jones on injured reserve
JAMIE GERMANO / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Buffalo Bills made it official Wednesday, placing linebacker Matt Milano (lower right leg) and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (torn pectoral muscle) on injured reserve.

Coach Sean McDermott had said Monday that both defensive starters will require surgery, and Wednesday told reporters "the door hasn't been shut" on either player returning this season.

Buffalo signed veteran linebacker A.J. Klein to the active roster from the practice squad, added defensive tackle Andrew Brown to the practice squad and designated linebacker Baylon Spector to return from the IR.

Both Milano and Jones were hurt Sunday in the Bills' 25-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

Milano appeared to have his right leg caught in a pile of players early in the game. He had to be helped off the field and was ruled out with what the team called a knee injury.

Milano, 29, was a Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro selection in 2022. He had 30 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble over five starts this year before his injury.

Jones, 31, had 2.5 sacks in five games to start the season.

Klein, 32, played parts of three seasons with Buffalo from 2020-22, totaling 37 games (16 starts), 110 tackles, one interception, five sacks and two forced fumbles.

He made his NFL debut in 2013 with the Carolina Panthers as a fifth-round draft pick, and also has played for the New Orleans Saints (2017-19), Chicago Bears (2022) and Baltimore Ravens (2022).

The Bills also announced that tight ends Dalton Kincaid (concussion) and Dawson Knox (wrist) as well as defensive end Greg Rousseau (foot) were limited in practice Wednesday.

Cornerback Christian Benford (shoulder) had a full practice, while cornerback Dane Jackson (foot) did not practice.
