Bills Player Suffers Punishment Over 'Obscene Gestures'

The Buffalo Bills beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their Week 11 game last Sunday, 44-32. Quarterback Josh Allen was sensational in the contest, recording three passing touchdowns and three rushing scores.

Allen made history in the process, as he tied former NFL star Cam Newton for the most rushing TDs by a QB in NFL history with 75.

Running back Ty Johnson also scored for the Bills in the win, with his second-quarter touchdown off an Allen pass ultimately giving Buffalo the lead. Johnson ran for 52 yards to reach the end zone and record his first receiving TD of the season.

Unfortunately for Johnson and the Bills, however, the 28-year-old NFL veteran was punished for his actions after the play. For those who missed it, Johnson celebrated his TD by lying on the ground, thrusting his hips and pounding his fist on the ground.

On Saturday, the NFL announced a $10,777 fine for Johnson, citing unsportsmanlike conduct for "obscene gestures."

For what it's worth, Johnson is not the only member of the Bills who was fined for a violation during the game against the Buccaneers.

Defensive end Joey Bosa received a $17,389 fine for his low hit on Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield. The NFL stated that the reason for the punishment was "contact to the knee area or below," which occurred in the fourth quarter of the game.

It remains to be seen if Johnson and Bosa will address the punishments the NFL handed them. Sure enough, though, the two need to be more careful, especially since repeated violations could lead to increased fines.
