The Buffalo Bills entered the offseason with the chance to improve a roster that was good enough to go 13-4, win the AFC East, and make an AFC Championship Game appearance, eventually losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
If there's one side of the ball that could use more work, it'd be the defense, which finished the season ranking 11th in points per game allowed (21.6) and 17th in total yards per game allowed (341.5).
In an attempt to help bring those numbers up, SB Nation predicts that the Bills will sign safety Justin Reid, who has been with the Chiefs since 2022.
"The Bills are in dire need of an upgrade at safety, and Justin Reid fits the bill perfectly," they wrote. "Not only is this a good football move, but the precise kind of knife the Bills want to drive into the Chiefs."
His 2024 season was shaky with the Chiefs, being targeted 62 times, allowing 48 receptions, 502 yards, four touchdowns, and a passer rating of 108.4, which is the worst he's allowed since 2020 (110.2).
However, Reid still ended up earning a Pro Football Focus grade of 76.9, and he could come in and serve as a replacement for Damar Hamlin, who started 14 games for the Bills but is also slated to hit the open market.
If the Bills do want to bring Reid in, though, they'll need to be comfortable paying him a hefty price, as Spotrac places his market value at $15.5 million annually.
