Bills QB Josh Allen Signs Historic $330 Million Contract

The Buffalo Bills made a flurry of moves this offseason, securing serval key players to longterm exemptions, including wide receiver Khalil Shakir and defensive end Greg Rousseau.

However, the Bills pulled the trigger on a record-breaking deal for their franchise star on March 9. Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who won the AP's Most Valuable Player award, agreed to a massive extension.

NFL insider Adam Schefter posted, "A new NFL mark: the Bills and Josh Allen reached agreement on a new record-setting six-year, $330 million contract that includes $250 million guaranteed, the largest guarantee ever given to an NFL player, sources tell ESPN.

"Allen had four years left on his deal, but the Bills still rewarded their franchise QB with a new benchmark deal."

Allen was already set to remain in Buffalo through 2028. WGR 550's Sal Capaccio noted, "Team says new deal keeps him through 2030 so it’s a whole new deal not just a six-year extension. Original deal would have cost $44M against cap this year. We’ll see how creative Brandon Beane got to move money for cap."

The 28-year-old's major pay raise comes after the best season of his seven-year NFL career. During the 2024 season, Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns with just six interceptions. He also recorded 531 yards on the ground and 12 rushing touchdowns.

The Bills wrote in their announcement, "Since coming into the league, Allen has the most wins (76), total TDs (262) & total yards (30,595) by any player all-time in their first seven seasons.

"In Week 13, Allen passed Bills Legend and Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly for the most total touchdowns in franchise history."

With Allen at the helm, the Bills have won five consecutive AFC East titles and came within one game of reaching the Super Bowl last year.
