The Buffalo Bills are one win away from clinching the No. 2 seed in the AFC as they prepare to face the New York Jets in Week 17.
Before the Bills' last matchup against the New England Patriots, insider Ian Rapoport reported that quarterback Josh Allen has been playing with a broken hand since Week 1. Allen confirmed that report in a press conference on Thursday.
“Yeah. Yeah, it's the left one, so it doesn't really matter all that much," said Allen.
Although Allen doesn't seem concerned with an injury to his non-throwing hand, he also is dealing with an ailment to his right arm as well. Allen also addressed that injury on Thursday.
"Just a little sore from this last game. Probably took too many opportunities for them to lay their hands and pads on me. I just gotta be smarter," said Allen.
Allen showed up on the injury report this week with an arm ailment but has been a full participant every day in practice, so he'll be on the field on Sunday.
If the Bills are able to win against New York, Allen can sit out in Week 18 and rest with the playoffs beginning the following week. He could even begin sitting out before the end of the game on Sunday if Buffalo can get out to a big enough lead.
Despite all of his injury struggles, Allen is the leading contender for league MVP. Through 15 games, he has 4,063 total yards and 38 total touchdowns.
