Key Points:
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook's fourth NFL season is off to a hot start, tallying 355 total yards and four touchdowns through his first three games. Buffalo, widely considered the league's top team, sits at 3-0 after a 31-21 Thursday night win over AFC East rival Miami that saw Cook rush for 108 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.
Cook, 25, is the younger brother of former NFL star running back Dalvin Cook, who made four consecutive Pro Bowls during his time with the Minnesota Vikings. A second-round NFL draft pick out of Georgia in 2022, the younger Cook is proving to be a star in his own right, recording back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons while also serving as a serious threat for Josh Allen in the passing game.
Cook's rise in production, which has turned him into a fantasy football superstar, has not gone unnoticed off the field either. According to Michael Schwartz of WKBW, Buffalo’s ABC affiliate, the young ball carrier now has his very own cookie named after him, fittingly named The James Cookie.
"The James Cookie is now sold in local stores including Topps, Delta Sonic, & Crosby’s," wrote Schwartz.

One local restaurant that got its hands on The James Cookie is Brickoven Pizzeria & Pub.
The restaurant described the cookie in detail in a Facebook post:
"LET JAMES BAKE! Introducing The James Cookie - available now for a limited time
A delicious sugar cookie with red, white and blue sprinkles, white chocolate, rice crispies, salted caramel-coated pretzels and toffee crunchies."
After Cook shared the post on his social media, reactions from fans were about what you'd expect. Of course, locals in Buffalo wanted to get their hands on the cookie honoring the NFL's leading rusher (thanks in part to Buffalo having played more games than most teams at this point). But there were also some pretty fun responses that were worth highlighting from the fans:
When Cook played at Georgia, he actually went by "James Cook III," but dropped the suffix when he got to the pros. That cleverly prompted one fan to post the following: "Should of spelled it Cookiii"
"When I think cookies, I think Delta sonic," another fan said, joking that a local car wash is not where you'd expect to find these cookies.
Another gave him a new nickname: "I think you now have a new nickname. Cookie Monster"

Cook, who was voted into the Pro Bowl in both 2023 and 2024, was the NFL's co-leader in rushing touchdowns a season ago, a title he shared with Derrick Henry and Jahmyr Gibbs. This season, according to FanDuel, Cook has the 13th-best odds to win the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award at +3500.
