Bills release WR John Brown after two seasons

The Buffalo Bills announced Wednesday that they released speedy wide receiver John Brown after two seasons. They also released defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson.

Per Over the Cap, the Bills save just under $8 million by cutting Brown. He had a $9.5 million cap hit for the 2021 campaign.

Brown acknowledged the release and thanked the Bills via Instagram.

The 30-year-old had the best season of his career with the Bills in 2019, catching 72 passes for 1,060 yards and six touchdowns. He was used less in 2020 after the Bills traded for Stefon Diggs. In nine games, Brown had 33 catches for 458 yards and three TDs.

It's unclear which teams might be interested in signing the Pittsburg State product. He has also played for the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens.
